Guest guest
Hi Mike I do not wait for the Doctors to call me with lab work, etc. I have chosen where to get it done because I have tiny veins that bounce away from a needle. I have and use only one person at my local hospital. Ellen is the best and hits me first time every time We have developed a friendship over that past few months and she does all kinds of special requests for me....I love her!!! It takes 24 hours to get back MOST blood work. I ask Ellen how long these special tests will take, mark it on my calendar and go pick it up from the medical records Dept. I know long before my Doctor what test results are. I just cannot handle waiting for a Doctor/Nurse to call which is usually weeks later! I have the same set up a Mayo Clinic in ville only my vampire of choice there is " Mikie " . Once I know when CT, x rays, blood work will be ready I go to medical records there and pick it up and request any tests not yet in to be mailed to me ASAP for my Doctors in Vero Beach. I have so little control over anything that is going on I savor the fact that in this one area I am in control I have a binder with all my medical records neatly organized with index tabs. I do this so if some one says they don't have my records I whip it out of my binder and give it to them. This was happening allot in the beginning...now they know I watch carefully on all test results. I also research any abnormal results and discuss them when I see my various Doctors. Right now I have 6 different people asking me when did you last have this test or that test done Most important if my varices explode I can bring my binder to any emergency room and this really minimizes the testing they need to do which equals less pain! The 2 times I have been to the emergency room the Doctors were so very grateful I brought this information as it helped them make a quick and good diagnoses. I highly recommend everyone do this! > > Hey Friends and Family ... got my genotype test back - 2B ... Guest guest
good news is good news,, geno 2 is one of the easiest to treat with a svr rate somewhere around 85% !!! Fibrosure is NOT accurate hon, unless you are stage 0-1 or stage 4.. anything inbetween those two are not accurate.. Im not sure why he is spending so much money doing that when it really cannot show what is what down to the cellular level.. I had a biopsy and a fibrosure and the fibrosure said I was stage 0-1 with no activity... this was 3 years after I finished tx and I was so excited because I HAD been stage 3-4... when they did the biopsy, it showed I was more stage 2-3.. It was so disappointing to know that I still had so much damage.. well let us know what you find out ,, k? dont feel bad about the labs tho, when I went to have mine drawn, yes I finally did it yesterday,, I had two lab slips and this gal in the lab thought that one was a copy of the other, she didnt even look at it and just put one copy in the shredder... so after the gal who drew ONE tube of blood pulled the needle out, I said wait, that is not enough blood for both tests,, she said no there was only one test, so they were sure that we only brought them ONE lab slip,, we insisted that we'd brought two,, and they finally looked everywhere, initially said no, but then looked in the shredder and found the other slip,, so I had to be stuck again,, grrrrrrr this is typical for our hosp lab,, one has to be on top of everything,, I think they hire flunkies , lolJackie Subject: Good Help IS Hard to Find - have to re-draw labsTo: Hepatitis_C_Central Date: Friday, September 5, 2008, 8:13 AM Hey Friends and Family ... got my genotype test back - 2B ... I'm toldthat one of my better options !But the other tests did not come back, Doc says doesn't look like theyran them, this is the third time I'm doing a draw for the same tests -but it's the lab not his office (the doctor and office came highlyrecommended, the lab, that's another story). The test he's running before a biopsy is a "Fibrosure" ??? maybeFibrasure?.ThanksMike
Guest guest
I was 2b and treated for 24 weeks. I started treatment when I was 48 and finished at 49. Now I am 50 and have been virus-free for 2 years. I think that all 2's should do the treatment. I was Stage 1 Grade 1 at my biopsy, and now my Gastro doctor doesn't even want to see me anymore. Regardless of what the fibrosure test says do it! > > Hey Friends and Family ... got my genotype test back - 2B ... Guest guest
I don't know any 2b failures that followed the protocol -- In Hepatitis_C_Central , " Lee " wrote: > > I was 2b and treated for 24 weeks.
