North Shore Pediatric Therapy Monthly Workshop

Speech 101: How to Engage Your Infant and Child in Communication

April 30th 7:00pm

In this presentation, the audience will learn about speech and language

milestones exhibited by typical and developmentally delayed children

from birth through 6 years. Developmental milestones will include:

speech and language skills, social-emotional skills, and age appropriate

play skills. The presenters will also provide important red flags that

indicate a possible delay or decline in developmental milestones which

may warrant intervention. Finally, tips and activities to enhance a

child's speech and language development will be shared and

discussed.

About the Presenters:

Meghan Grant, M.S. CCC-SLP is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist who

graduated from Southern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science

as well as Master of Science in Communication Disorders and Sciences.

Meghan is accredited by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association

(ASHA) and is certified in Hippotherapy, the Sequential Oral-Sensory

(SOS) Approach to Feeding, and the P.R.O.M.P.T technique for increasing

verbal communication. Meghan is dedicated to improving the lives of her

clients by promoting functional communication skills and helping

children reach their maximum potential.

Kast, M.A., CCC-SLP is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist

who graduated from Saint Louis University with a Bachelor of Science

and then a Master of Art in Communication Sciences and Disorders.

is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing

Association (ASHA) and the Missouri Speech-Language-Hearing Association

(MSHA). She is dedicated to increasing the quality of communication and

the overall quality of life in the children and families she works with.
