About The Workshop: At the conclusion of this workshop attendees will be able

to:

Demonstrate how to use a systematic practice routine to develop fluent behavior

Identify behavior at different stages of learning

Identify behavioral elements and behavioral compounds

Use existing fluency aims and create fluency aims for new behaviors

About The Presenter:

(Rick) Kubina, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor at The Pennsylvania State

University, University Park, Pennsylvania. He received his Ph.D. in Special

Education from Ohio State University where he studied under , Ph.D.

He has worked as a behavior analyst and special education teacher using both

effective teaching and behavioral change practices with a range of learners with

disabilities.

His current interests include measurably effective teaching methods such as

Direct Instruction and Precision Teaching. Dr. Kubina's current research has

explored how measurably effective teaching

methods can benefit students with autism. Most recently Dr Kubina has studied

the effects of building behavioral fluency with children with autism. He has

made numerous presentations at national and

international conferences as well as publishing articles in such journals as

Journal of Behavioral Education, Behavioral Interventions, Journal of Behavior

Therapy and Experimental

Psychiatry, and Intervention in School and Clinic and is the current editor of

the Journal of Precision Teaching and Celeration..

Dr. Kubina has also provided consultation to families and schools that integrate

research based educational methods for children with autism. He continues to

provide ongoing training in Precision

Teaching and fluency based strategies to agencies and school

districts.

Early Bird Registration is $60 per participant (postmarked by April 1)

After April 1 and Walk-in is $70 (space permitting). Walk-ins are not

guaranteed a boxed lunch

Pre-workshop sign-in will be held from 8:15 – 8:50 a.m.
