Guest guest
You are making progress one day at a time, Don, hang in with us.. Hugs, Sheena I havent a clue where to begin. So far my family prac doc blood tested me and said I have Hep C. Then a Heptologist in another hospital tested my RNA [Hep C pos], my geno is 1B, and my viral load is 86,009, and something else HCD?HCV? is 4.9. Now what? Im feeling ok right now. Ive been lurking here for the last couple/3 months hoping to get a little bit smarter, but you all are talking chinese to me. Im still lost. Who should I go see about this Hep C stuff first? I think I should begin addressing this ASAP, but no clue where to begin. I move into my new rental hs today, and for at least 2 weeks will be settling in. Then I think Ill be free to start. What to do, what to do, what to do...not to mention alone, ignorant, and scared sh*tless. love don in kansas
Guest guest
You can be treated by the GI but from my own personal experience the hepatologist is better . The HCV 4.9 sound like your viral load in a logarythmic term (same as 8,6009) and yeah you should treat it as early as possible to increase your chances of attaining a sustained viralogical response (SVR) . Don't be scared with a viral load that low treatment should be a piece of cake for you , cause I honestly believe the higher the viral load the worse the side effects . But I wouldn't start until you get settled in for sure and maybe find a local support group where you can network for support durinng your treatment . I HAVE NO CLUE I havent a clue where to begin. Guest guest
Don Be careful and take your time to think. The treatment is rough and will be hard alone. Look to holistic ideas regarding herbs and teas and be open to changing your diet. My husband did the treatment once so far and it took him almost two years to recoverHe is on a holistic diet as well as tons of vitamins, herbs and different teas. It has been three years sincehis treatment and he is still sick but his quality of life is very good. He plays music in a band, takes weekend trip with me and has a social life. He still is sick but he wants a quality life as long as possible. Be cautious with the medical industry and ask tons of questions. Guest guest
I didn't mean to say -Walk blindly into vitamins, herbs and teas but you are your best judge of how you feel. The mind is strong and keeping your head clear and focused does improve your well being. I said read many books and determine what you are willing to do and how much you want to be in charge of your Hepatitis C. Don't forget diet, it is critical. I see what my husband has done and his quality of life and I don't want to be blinded by the medical industry. in CA [Hepatitis_C_ Central] I HAVE NO CLUE I havent a clue where to begin. Guest guest
There's so many "get rich schemes" out there, another reason why doing your own research is so very important.
