Guest guest
Hi DO NOT GO THRU THE TV AD LAWYERS. They get paid out of your check. Use Legal Aid to find a FREE disability lawyer. You will get more from SSI [mental disability], than you would get from regular SS [earnings]. Mental disability does not mean crazy, just broke. Stress can be a reason you cant cope, or function in the 'normal' world. I used PTSD. Now 'everything is free' except I pay 3.00 co-pay per script. The benefits are super. Much better and more than plain SS. Only problem with SSI.....you cant own anything much, and you cant work. love don in kansas Subject: Re: SSTo: Hepatitis_C_Central Date: Sunday, October 5, 2008, 11:38 AM For my initial application, they denied me because I had "full use of... arms and legs." Guest guest
more There is nothing illegal, dishonest, shameful, unamerican, etc, about needing the govt to help you out. You have supported the govt all your life via taxes. SS youve earned by working and is rightfully yours anytime you want need it. SSI disability is donations via 'rich ppls tax writeoffs', church donations, congressional supliment programs from taxes already collected and earmarked as such. Both are there for you to use. Dont be afraid. Everythings cool. Play theyre game and pursue your needs. love don in kansas Subject: Re: SSTo: Hepatitis_C_Central Date: Sunday, October 5, 2008, 11:38 AM For my initial application, they denied me because I had "full use of... arms and legs." Guest guest
With my husband, depression was not enough. The neuropathy, inability to control his diabetes, lab results and CT scans finally did it for them. It is a frusterating process. I just thank God it happened when it did...we could have lost our house-even with my working 2 full time jobs. Just have the faith! Guest guest
Oh, I have plenty of mental health issues. I’ve been diagnosed with Major Depression (I’ve been depressed all of my life), Generalized Anxiety Disorder (same), Post Hallucinogen Perception Disorder and a Dissociative Disorder. I did a lot of LSD in my younger days. PTSD wouldn’t be a stretch, either. Hepatic Encephalopathy should be enough on its own. Not sure why it hasn’t been yet. There has been a slow, yet steady decline in my cognitive abilities. Guest guest
Don, teaches Psychology at a college where he lives at. I believe. In some states you just have to go through a denial process. In most cases you go before a judge and then you are granted SSD. If you have the right dx. I think will do well. I know that is true both in Oklahoma and Texas. I applied and got denied. My lawyer never did anything. And the funny thing I got better so I don't need it now. I don't know why I got better other than a lifestyle change. If it ever got to where it was before I would apply again. I also have bipolar disorder, and could get it for that. I have OCD,and other problems that go with the bipolar. Like uncontrollable spending and such. But with a therapist help, I have learned to curb the spending. The OCD actually helps me in my job. LOL I count and recount when I am dealing with money. I have learned to close my bank early so I have the time to count my bank with the many times I must count it to feel confident.
