Guest guest
I was approved in 3 months. I think my Doctors reports (Mayo Clinic) and how I dealt with and treated my SSDI Rep Is what made a difference. When I owned my own business a Tanning Salon plus misc other retail items, I was a sales person and I was told I could sell some ones Mother if I wanted to. People readily parted with their money for our products and services for a number of reasons. I do believe this approach is needed with SSDI to avoid hassles and waiting. My SSDI rep said as soon as Mayo said I had end stage liver disease I would be approved and I was. So it could have been as simple as that BUT I have talked to a few ESLD people who still got rejected! Personally I would blame my Doctors before SSDI. You know how they are about the forms being filled out correctly. I have my own case worker at Mayo who dealt with the gathering and processing of paperwork. Vicky will also be taking care of Medicare benefits when I have been on SSDI for 2 years. She will begin the enrollment process long before its due and her primary job is to ensure that Mayo Clinic gets all my money and not Medicare LMAO IMHO people who cannot use a Hepatologist with a big clinic like Mayo behind them will probably not get it right away. When you have HepC you need a Hepatologist and not a gastro for many reasons. My poor husband has to drive 400 miles round trip to see a hepatologist but its been worth every mile. I have a local Gastro who makes sure I am OK between our 3-6 month visits. Oh Dr. Idrees is such a special guy I feel like I am one of his kids and not just a number or another patient. He is VERY surprised how well I am doing and carries my file around with him even more these days. His nurse Amber said I am very special to him I let them all know how much I appreciate what they all do for me every time I see them. Guest guest
I think my doctor’s office has problems with forms and letters. He was already saying encephalopathy before my initial application and the SSD website says that should make approval automatic. I’m not doing too good today. I’m very sore from falling. I’m weak, unsteady, in a fog and breathing heavy with minimal physical exertion. had the flu again last week- hope I didn’t catch it. Guest guest
Hi , You sound like a survivor like me {{{{{{{hugs}}}}}. Its the only thing about the internet I hate because I am a very huggy/kissy person so this is the best I can do. I am ESLD on Tx and I ask that same question. I am doing Tx at this particular time of year because there is a possibility I could go into liver failure from Tx or better yet get cancer of the liver. Cancer of the liver which is completely treatable if caught early and would shoot me up to the top of the transplant list. This is the time of year when all the locals and out of vacationers come in and do stupid things that kill them so there are more livers available. Isn't that just awful for me to say, but it is true. Other than that I need drugs, which I call poison, until something better comes along. I am convinced that will be Tx If not I am planning my next course of action which is stem cell or a new thing in India that filters your blood and takes out the virus. I seriously doubt I will do Tx again for many reasons.
