waiting to start the treatment

I'll start my tx in around August 1. I hate waiting. I envy you all who

have already started the treatment.

My clinic visit the other day lasted over an hour, with the guy in

charge of my treatment talking for over an hour non-stop on what was

going to happen, and the possible side effects. They gave me a sheet of

side effects with single spaced text on both sides of the paper. I had

my wife take notes; I learned a long time ago that a person with liver

disease shouldn't go to the doctor alone, because they'll forget

everything within five minutes.

I'll be started on half the maximum dose of interferon, because of my

hemoglobin, and maybe my kidneys, which are about 75%. Ribavirin will

be at maximum dosage. He guaranteed me eventually I'll be taking

Procrit shots.

Yippee! Actually, when I think of this as the beginning of the end of

the virus, I feel pretty positive.
