Dear ,I hope Svetlana or Pamela Curlee can provide more input on this discussion also, but my understanding of the DVDs that you mentioned are that they are instructional so that you have something to help you remember how to do the exercises. As for frequency, you would follow your written home program and you would NOT double up on the frequency.

The listed reflexes that you refer to in the home program are in addition to the Neurostructural, Tactile, and other programs on the DVD. There may be some duplication on the DVDs as far as they also had some reflexes filmed for instruction on the same DVD, but the reflexes are not duplicated in the programs themselves. So, for instance, Tactile is a completely different program than the individual reflexes you were given to work with. Babinsky is not a part of Neurostructural, but it was probably on the Neurostructural DVD for educational purposes.

I am not familiar with how the home programs looked from Minnesota, but even those would be suggested schedules as only you could determine given the activities you have to do each day when you could fit what exercises in. The only limitation that I am aware of was that Neurostructural and Tactile should not be done in the same day because of over stimulation.

I understand how overwhelming it can seem, but don't worry too much. I realize that the Buena Park conference did not give priorities or recommendations for scheduling, but if the list of reflexes is too much, and you are not able to work with a specialist to determine priorities, then you can take 3 reflexes at a time from the list and work with them for a couple of months and then move on to the next three etc. In fact, perhaps you can use the home program schedule you received from Minnesota as an example of a schedule on how many reflexes and the duration to work with them.

Please take it easy on yourself. We had a report from one parent at a recent course that just focused on one reflex and embracing squeeze that she was given by her therapist and she saw great improvements. I am not recommending that you do not work your program. I just do not want to see parents become too overwhelmed or frustrated and give up on the program or Method. Evey little bit counts, so just do what you can. I have been using this method for five years for my son and I have not lived up to the " ideal " that I would like with our busy schedule, but we continue to see improvements in many areas.

If you have more specific questions, you can also email Pamela Curlee or Svetlana directly. I hope this helps!Val

HI Pamela--We could use another dose of your enthusiasm & wisdom that got us so on track last April. We need help figuring out how to build more of our MNRI full program into our week. Do you have any time for a quick chat? One question that pops into mind is that Zander still struggles with sitting up from a laying down position without having one arm down for support. (we see this in his gymnastics class) What should we be focusing on to help that develop? Second one, when he's tensing (arms up in a moro/tlr/babkin thing) and talking to himself, Svetlana said (at NJ 08 camp) that we should interrupt it. Lately, he's much more resistant to being interrupted saying "I like it" or "I'm having my own thoughts." Whenever he's playing independently (a skill we very much want him to develop) he does it. What should we do?Lastly, since the tensing is such a homologous glitch, should we be avoiding activities that are mostly homologous? Could such activities increase his struggles? (I can probably explain this better verbally.)Thank you so much for offering this Pam, these 3 have been bugging us for a while. Hope all is GREAT with you! I would Love to hear your voice. Please tell Svetlana I am loving the new archetype DVD from latest camp--learning lots I didn't know. Her coaching to stretch each segment of the arms during standing archetype exercises 4 & 5 has changed everything!!! (and they were great before!) The isometrics added to mouthspine rotation have increased my range of motion 100%. (And I haven't even gotten to do them with Zander yet). On archetype homolateral, is it okay to watch your fingertips as they go behind your body too? Are there going to be any camps that won't be in heatwave territories of texas/florida this year?
