Hi Leanne,

I taught my son this by using items such as toothpicks, straws, plastic

frogs, gravel, etc. Initially, I placed one toothpick on one side of the table

and then put the rest of box on the other side. I then gradually, and very

incrementally, reduced the big pile and increased the small pile by telling him

which was big and which was little (or whatever words you want to use...what

really matters is that you stick with the same words). He got it pretty quickly

and we then went on to use different words.
