Chain emails -

Hi everyone

Just a quick note about chain emails.

It has been brought to my attention that some people are receiving chain emails in their inboxes thru the site. Now, I understand that we all want to share jokes and sometimes a chain email; there is no harm in that. It's simple to delete the post or skip it depending on what you feel like doing. I receive a few of these each day and in general they don't bother me and I quite often pass on something that was funny or if I liked it – and that is always nice. I do have a few friends that for whatever reason they choose not to be sent these group emails, I respect that and so I don't. I would ask that we do the same here – post it on the site and if like I said you don't want to read it, simply skip it or delete. Then there is no way of sending it to someone that doesn't wish to receive it.

I am posting this because a member recently received a chain email of a religious nature. Some people take their faith seriously and choose not to have it trivialised – that is their prerogative and we should respect that. So I would ask that you not send these chain type mails privately, unless you are friends and in constant contact with the intended recipient and they have not indicated previously that they do not wish to receive this kind of material. If you do receive this type of post and do not wish to receive them, kindly reply to the sender and let them know that you are not interested in this kind of thing. They should understand - it is after all just an email.

Please reply to me personally if you have any need to clarify anything relating to this issue. I don't feel that it is something that needs to be debated on the site. We are all very good on this site of respecting each other, so let's continue to do so.
