That often happens.? Ibuprophen, back rubs and?warm baths?might help a little to reduce her irritability. Sorry I don't have any good answers, but you might look at Schramm's book, " Teaching Toward Recovery " .? It?addresses manipulative behavior such as what you described.? At her age, often the motivator is a need for control of the situation.? It's typical teenage behavior, aggravated by hormonal development.? discusses how to use control as a motivator in a positive way. Just an aside to other parents: Be aware that Risperdal (risperidone) metabolizes to prolactin, a female hormone, in the body.? Doctors often don't tell you that before prescribing it.? This can bring on early puberty, breast development, etc.? Other side effects are marked weight gain.? I tried it for a while for my daughter but it seemed to lose its effectiveness after some time.
