2009/2010 SCHOOL YEAR

June 17, 2009

Behavior Specialist BCBA required

Two Year Grant Funded Position

(Full time, 10 month position)

This individual will work directly with special education staff to improve

instructional and behavioral outcomes for identified students and on going

training for staff:

• Providing support and direction to teachers and teacher assistants who

instruct students with disabilities K-12

• Providing professional development in behavioral interventions " Best

Practices " for teachers of students with disabilities

• Providing consultation on unique cases where students are not making

appropriate progress

• Conducting school and classroom observations and consultations assessing the

instructional environment where special education is being provided

• Reviewing instructional programming with teachers to improve ABA methodology

• Assisting the teachers to jointly develop programs for students

• Conduct FBA, write comprehensive behavior plans

• Planning and conducting professional development

•

REQUIREMENTS:

•Must possess strong background knowledge and skills in the areas of: ABA,

Autism, Behavior Management, Positive Behavioral Supports, sound instructional

practices for students on the Autistic spectrum and for those with behavioral

challenges

•Must have knowledge in how to: conduct an FBA, write behavior plans, train

staff on the principles of behavior modification and

•BCBA Certification required
