Re: Journaling question

Hello ,

I have two journals: One is my food journal and the other is for

everything else. In my food journal, I write down what is going on in

my head when I eat and after I have eaten (thanks to Randy's

suggestion) and I also write the things down that I have eaten and

don't want to have in my diet as a way of not denying that it happened

and saying I want to avoid it. For the last few weeks, I have noticed

that when I don't allow myself to feel guilty for the bad choices I

make, I justify just about anything and do not self correct...but the

guilt is wrong too. Fro the last 5 or 6 days, I tried the jouraling

in this new way I mentioned about and I feel great about it because I

can flip back and remember how sick I felt from eating the crap and it

has prevented a further outburst so far. I am not a fan of counting

calories/carbs because I think those restrictions and strict

guidelines can lead to binging (at least for me) so as a friend of

mine reminds me regularly...take it one meal at a time and try to make

the right choices.

Steph - excellent - I couldn't agree with you more - I think about what Rennee

said about her client who hadn't binged for two weeks but was upset over eating

too much at a fish fry - she said - how did you do the other 13.5 days - she had

done very well but only gave attention to the time she did not do as she would

have liked ;)
