Guest guest
Wow,, this IS great news,,, Dearest friends and family, Rick has been in the transplant unit since Tuesday (after leaving the ICU) and will be released from the hospital on Saturday!! His bloodwork is stable and he's reacting to the anti-rejection drugs well. We spent an hour this morning with the head hospital pharmacist going over all the meds he'll be taking when he comes home to our apartment. Tomorrow at 10AM we meet w/ the CVS rep and receive all the meds and schedules...it's a LOT to keep track of, but I'll do it with pleasure. Every step is a step forward. A hospital chaplain came today and he prayed with us. Rick had tears in his eyes when the chaplain left, as did I. Rick, the confirmed agnostic, has turned a corner after all the blessings that have been bestowed upon him, I do believe. How powerful. Some of you have asked if you might send flowers to the hospital. With Rick coming home to our home-away-from home, it would be a delight and really cheerful if you could send a few posies to welcome him home. I realize that these are very hard economic times for us all, but even just a tiny flower would brighten his return and reaffirm the beginning of his new life. I'm not requesting this, please understand that, merely responding to your requests of when might be a good time. This is certainly the best of times. Our address is: 502 S. Fremont Ave., Apt.#304Tampa, FL 33606Local phone number: Each day it gets a little better and, once again, thanks to you all for your love and support. Rick is still frail, skinny and losing his hair from the chemo-embo, but there's a brightness in his eyes that is extraordinary. Love and hugs to each of you,

Guest guest
Mine too hon. I was getting ready for work this morning when I read it and this is my first chance to reply. I am going to go to the florist this afternoon to get some flowers sent to the apartment so when he gets home he has some fresh posies to smell. Nothing says love like flowers.
