Guest guest
Michele, Thanks for the welcome. Already I am amazed at this group. It seems like just what I need right now. I will try to keep up the best I can. I am visually impaired, and sometimes if I get a lot of e-mail, I get overwhelmed. But I will definitely try to keep up! > Welcome, Toni! Guest guest
Hi Sue: You certainly have a dilema! Judi and I have have the same one. We live in the rural NC mountains thinking when we found this place it was paradise. However all the woes of the world found it also and in a short twenty years it became like the rest of the world. lives in AK another paradse outpost from the world, just sixty miles from Siberia Russia in the Aluetion Island chain. Now thats getting away. But even there people are dying and getting sick, as they are where I live in the mountains of NC. My answer there is No place to go in the US to escape whats going to kill many of us. There is a friend in Chile who states they are not spraying there. But how would you live if you went there? Its not just crop spraying look up! They are spraying us with Chemtrails too! They are the lines in the sky that merge creating a semi clear c;oud cover over the once deep blue sky after it blends together. These are making many sick. My heart goes out to you. But I do not know where to go, and if I did i'd already be there. Walt New to the group Hi everyone,I've been asthmatic for the last 10 yrs. Onset age 30. I moved from Northern Michigan to Idaho, which Idaho has been my trigger. This year has been the worst. In fact I have never gone to ER until just this past Friday, and it was bad. I had asthma excerbation, and Pnumonia. My doctor has adviced me to get out of this area. He ran some tests that showed I had chemicals in my lungs, from the crop dusting they do on the fields, and the fine dust particles, I breathe daily are like sludge in my lungs. Since 1st DX, I have been the pharmacy, and so I am making some real life changes. First we sold our home 1 month ago, but due to the kids in school, we won't be moving until this coming June. My hopistal ER visit, was a life saver. But frankly I'm very, very tired of taking all these meds just to breathe. It truly affects my whole family, and I just want to enjoy my husband again like old times. I love the outdoor. Is there anyone that has made a complete turn around with their asthma, by either moving back where they came from, or finding a place to live that they could breathe better? And gradually getting off of some of their meds.? I would truly like to hear any ones stories of relief, and hope!Anyone please reply!Smiles, Sue

Guest guest
Hello T.J. I went in on the site and looked to see what they had to say about the ingredients in this product. The selenium is good, and the herb in it is probably of some value, but I would not trust this much tyrosine, and here's why----Tyrosine is the precursor for both the thyroid hormones that are produced in the thyroid. If a person has stable thyroid status OR if they are taking thyroid hormone, you might not have any way of knowing how much goes with what. I know that they say that there are many resources for the efficacy of this, but I don't see the evidence there. I would hate to send someone into hyperthyroidism on account of this. I am not familiar enough with the amts of tyrosine that should be taken in co-ordination with exogenous thyroid hormone, to post a favorable opinion on this. A good vitamin and mineral supplement, along with extra selenium, with A, C, E, and particularly the B vitamins are great for this disease, especially vitamins B5, B6, B12, and folic acid. Small more frequent meals help to keep the body from going into starvation mode and saving everything you eat in the form of fat. Weight loss is not easy in this disease, but the frequent meals help control this, but only when thyroid dosing is appropriate. Many on this site do take the natural thyroid hormones---Armour, Naturethroid, etc....---Some people get along fine on the synthetics like Synthroid, Levoxyl, Unithroid, and Levothroid, but people with conversion problems or cellular absorption problems probably do not. Armour has all the substances that a healthy thyroid used to make. T1, T2, T3, T4, and calcitonin (pulls calcium out of the blood and puts it into the bones where it belongs), along with many other natural things that seem to improve body functions. Many of us were on synthetics for yrs and continued to suffer the repercussions of hypothyroidism, but discovered that we felt better on these natural products. Everyone is individual, when it comes to this. For many, there is not enough T4 in the Armour, so some of us take a combo of the synthetic T4 and the Armour or other natural thyroid product. Some take a combo of T4 and Cytomel (synthetic T3) because of T4 to T3 conversion problems. Others take Cytomel-only. It is highly variable, and we will work with you to help you discover what is right for you. I am STILL working on this. It takes time. What is your diagnosis, when, and how much Synthroid are you taking for what period of time? Do you have Hashimoto's, have you been antibody tested? How are you feeling at this point? Give us some history, and please post your lab values here, along with the lab reference ranges. They are your lab values, and you have a right to a copy of them. Guest guest
Hey ! Welcome! So sorry to hear all that. Praying you feel better soon. I just joined this list this week and I’ve received so many helpful tips. I’ve had pneumonia for over 2 weeks so I hear ya. I’m finally starting to get around but then the humidity went up big time so I had another set back. We’ll get there. :-) Sheila Hi all, just to give a little backround, I'm 25 and was diagnosed at 12, I smoked from the time I was 18 until 24, not a long time I know but I never had the problems then that I have now, I quit 2/04 and ever since I've been in and out of the ER and admitted twice. Lets see I was in monthly April - July of '04 admitted in June '04 for two days. Did pretty well up until this past Feburary another wonderful stay for two days and then this morning went back to the ER. I've been on Alubuterol since I was 12, also have been on Azmacort-did nothing, Pulmocort-nothing, Advair helped but dr. took me off of it, Singular-thought it helped until recently, and tons of Pred and solumendrol-i hate steroids, between the mood swings and the ravenous feelings weight gain I'd almost rather wheeze constantly. So now I'm back on the steroids and they have changed my nebulizer meds to Atrovent/Albuterol mix which has seemed to help today. Since i've been home from the ER, i've done 3 treatments and don't feel to horrible however, the dr. at the ER said if i start wheezing again to get back there for IV steroids (Solumendrol) so we'll see how it goes. Oh something I have forgotten to mention I have no medical insurance so all of this is coming out of pocket. No wonder i stress so easy. So anyways sorry for such long post just needed to vent i guess. Thanks for listening.

Guest guest
, I'm so sorry you are having a bad time, I know only too well what this is like, I'm guessing you are in the US from your comment about the doctor taking you off Advair? I have had every drug in the book for my Brittle asthma but Advair has given me a life again. It truly is a miracle drug for me but I know it is very expensive, here in the UK we are very lucky that the National Health Service pays for it. Go back to your doctor and ask for it again and point out that in the long run if you add up all the other drug treatments and Er admissions then probably, on cost, Advair is good value. From the posts on my various groups I believe some drug companies have schemes for people on low income or without insurance to still receive a particular drug. As far as Prednisolone is concerned that drug is the Devil's drug. I started with just the odd course then my specialist put me on it for 4 weeks so she could do lung function tests and see if my asthma was reversible. Then I couldn't get off it, I got the moon face, split skin, bruises, mood swings, weight gain etc and I found I needed more and more just to stay stable. Advair allowed me to get off it and though I went through a rough time with lots of minor infections I've now turned the corner, lost 7lbs in weight and feel much better. Good luck with getting the right treatment Regards from June in London UK > > > Hi all, just to give a little backround, I'm 25 and was diagnosed at > 12, I smoked from the time I was 18 until 24, not a long time I know > but I never had the problems then that I have now, I quit 2/04 and > ever since I've been in and out of the ER and admitted twice. Guest guest
I use Singulair and it has helped me a lot. Welcome to the group . wrote: Hi my name's and I'm new to the board. I've been dealing with asthma since I was about 8 or 9. I also have chronic sinusitis and a lot of allergies.I'm currently on Symbicort 200/6 two inhales twice a day and Ventolin when needed. I also have a nebulizer with Ventolin when needed(mainly when I'm sick). I'm on Rhinicort Aqua for my chronic sinusitis.I find my allergies are getting worse. It's like I feel itchy inside my chest. Has anyone experienced this?I've been thinking on asking my doctor if I can add Singulair. Guest guest
Hi and welcome, I have much the same as you, Brittle asthma and allergies. I did really badly on Symbicort with Singulair and Rhinocort. My asthma was just worsening day by day. My specialist switched me to Seretide Accuhaler and Nasonex nasal spray and I am doing so much better on just those 2 things. I do have a friend who swears by Singulair, it works for some and not for others so worth trying but I can honestly say Seretide (known as Advair if you are in the USA) is reckoned to be one of the best asthma drugs. Hope you get things sorted out, have you heard of Xolair injections for allergic asthma? Regards from June (in London UK) > Hi my name's and I'm new to the board.
