No. We fly straight to Kona from LAX and straight back. Last year we did the lay over in Oahu....never again, if we can help it.... Darn...we will be just two islands away instead of two continents! We shall see. Huge congrats on the new pastor...we are still without one. I have been lurking but not up to posting... My m-i-l is still critical, and my ex passed away today, after having a heartattack wednesday. Mike has been with the boys all day today at the hospital so they could say goodbye. All this only 2 months after we lost my stepdad. Sigh...sometimes life is just hard. I am just thankful that we will see them all again. Grateful for the hope. Have fun at the meeting....I will see you in December...but watch the mail....something may be coming your way. love Sharon
Guest guest
Sharon What a tough time your family is going through right now. Thank God you have your faith and the love and support of each other. Your in my thoughts, prayers and especially my heart. When we went to Hawaii this Sept. I swam with the turtles. What a thrill! It really made me understand your turtle tattoo even more than just something that was cool. Swimming with dolphins will be soooooo awesome, and I'm just dying to know where that tattoo will go. I went para-sailing on this last trip... an extreme 1200 feet. Don't let it scare you. It was the most gentle, peaceful, glorious view of a ride. You just float. Only piece of advice...just before you take off you should be in a sitting position at the back of the boat, make sure that the harness straps are well on your legs (lower thighs) and not your butt. Otherwise you could get the wedgie from hell...lol, that happened to my daughter-in-law. Have fun. Mike got sick on the plane ride over (next year- Airborne- I heard it can keep the cooties away on planes!) so no snorkling this year. We hiked 4 1/2 miles down to the green sand beach and back. Did an all day hike on the volcano, but the vog kept us from getting to close to the lava entering the ocean. And, *sigh*, no new tatoo. Mike did bring my tatoo goo with us, but didnt feel good enough to argue with me about getting one, so where is the fun in that? lol We did go to the rainforest zoo and saw a white tiger. Rainbow falls, the boiling pots and Peepee falls...all new adventures. But were in early because Mike felt so bad. He was such a good sport tho- Now this week I have his cooties...at least I waited to get home...lol Yes, Mikes mom has been on Hospice since the end of August. She is still hanging on tho- no better, no worse. The garage from hell has been excorsized (sp) and we even had a wedding reception in it. But alas the room was to small for all my stuff. So Mike bought me a studio. We are in the process of renovating it now. I cant wait. Should be up and running by Jan 1. All said and done, I will be at the next support group meeting. I have missed the last 3. I have never missed more than one in the last 3 1/2 years. Life does have a way of getting in the way. I have got to get my 3 year labs drawn soon. cant wait to see you all.. love Sharon in Onyx
Guest guest
Hey Shazza Sorry about Mike getting sick - I too have heard that airborne stuff is good. Sounds like Hawaii was still great though. When I was in HNL I was tempted to get a turtle tattoo but I chickened out, so got it on his leg for me. It rocks!! Maybe I will get it next year... Aloha! Besides you know the rule - once you hit that lowest weight (even if it is for a milisecond), you never go back up,,,never! lol I am sorry I missed the meeting. Amy had a school program for her boys and I just didnt have the umph to go by myself. My friend Steve finally got approved for the DS, his date is Feb 11th, and I really wanted to be there for him, but I will make it next month. These holidays are wearing me out, but not getting any thinner tho- will work on that after next week. Shucks wish we would have known who he was....Jo could have said hi....LOL,,,,me too, some of the newbies don't mix well or maybe it's us not mixing with them..lol Next month if it ain't foggy I will be there.. Guest guest
some of the newbies don't > mix well or maybe it's us not mixing with them..lol =========================== Pat I think it's a little of both...the newbies are new and shy, feeling a little out of place...and us oldies are too busy talking and trying to catch up. Then Dr. K takes the real newbies a side for his little chat with them and we really don't get the chance to mingle with them. I am guilty of talking to someone during 1/2 the intro's so I miss who people are. I'm not trying to be talkative, but people ask me questions and you know how I am...there goes my mouth. Sooooo....having said all that, If you see me at a meeting, don't be shy, come up and say Howdy. I really do want to meet you. And you may have to introduce yourself to me for several months before my memory starts kicking in....it sucks getting older. Yep that would be Steve alright. Our boys grew up together up here in the valley and played soccer, baseball, football etc. We have sat thru alot of games together and Steve and Mike coached together too. I have been trying to reassure him about surgery and have convinced him that the DS is the only way to go.... So sorry I missed the meeting....
