The information is shown below. Carl Sundberg, Ph.D., BCBA-D is approved by the BACB to offer 6 Type II CEUs to certified behavior analysts (BCABAs, BCBAs, and BCBA-Ds). The VB-MAPP is based on B. F. Skinner's (1957) analysis of verbal behavior, established developmental milestones, and research from the field of behavior analysis. Dr. Mark Sundberg, Ph.D, BCBA, wrote the VB-MAPP, which was introduced in May 2008. VB-MAPP's will be available for purchase during this workshop and are not included in the registration fee. Sundberg, Ph.D., BCBA received his doctorate degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Western Michigan University under the direction of Dr. Jack . Dr. Sundberg utilizes B.F. Skinner's analysis of verbal behavior within the framework of applied behavior analysis to teach children with language and social deficits. While a graduate student, he taught behavior analysis at Western Michigan University for 7 years. Dr. Sundberg has publications in The Analysis of Verbal Behavior and A Collection of Reprints on Verbal Behavior. Although for the last 12 years he has specialized in early intervention with children with autism and other developmental disabilities, he has over 25 years experience in the field of mental health working with multiple populations. Since 1996 Dr. Sundberg has assessed and worked with over 400 children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorders and has personally worked with over 150 families. In addition to private consulting, Dr. Sundberg also works with school districts and has been invited to speak at conference presentations and workshops across the nation. Currently Dr. Sundberg is the Clinical Director for the Verbal Behavior Center for Autism (VBCA) in Indianapolis, Indiana. Dr. Sundberg oversees the implementation of 35 verbal behavior programs and the training of 45 skilled therapists. In addition he teaches Verbal Behavior at Ball State University and is the Vice President of the Indiana Association for Behavior Analysis. This workshop is recommended for special education teachers, administrators, speech and language pathologists, behavior analysts, in-home trainers, parents, graduate students and direct care staff, child advocates, etc. This workshop will consist of a lecture that will introduce you to strategies and techniques necessary to assess an individual's primary language deficits and needs using the Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program (VB-MAPP).
