My Father cuts long stems of basil off and will keep them in a " vase " of fresh

water on a counter. He makes them last weeks this way. I wonder if they would

last even longer if the vase was kept in the refrigerator. Just don't use a

leaded vase - maybe a mason jar or cup instead.
