WHAT: SOCIAL BUTTERFLIES: Summer Social Skills Program

WHERE: Good Sheppard United Christian Church (Run by: The Mariposa School in

Cary, NC)

WHEN: July 13, 2009 - August 21st, 2009: Full-time and Part-time slots

available

WHO: Children with Autism and other Related Disabilites as well as typically

developing friends to serve as appropriate peer models.

Social Butterflies is an intensive 5 day a week program with options of 2 weeks,

4 weeks, or 6 weeks. The Mariposa School's Social Butterflies will focus on

teaching appropriate social behaviors to children with Autism and other related

disabilities through the principles of Applied Behavior Anlaysis. Target skills

may include, sharing, turn taking, manding to peers, responding to peer mands,

initiating and maintaining interactions, responding appropriately to bullying

and teasing, and respecting others personal space.
