Dear Friends & Family,

October continues to be a very busy month here at ELIJA! With the hilarious

Night of Too Many Stars, the powerful 11th Annual Walk Now for Autism Speaks and

all of our upcoming workshops and conferences

(http://elija.org/foundation/news-and-events/conferences-workshops/) , so many

of you have really shown your continued support for our school and the Autism

community - and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

To wrap up yet another wonderful year, we invite you to join us for our

Champions for Charity® Holiday Cocktail Reception at Theory. Since we will not

be holding our annual ELIJA gala this year, this is a great opportunity to get

everyone together for an end-of-year celebration to support ELIJA. Hosted by

Theory and Stella Spanakos, we hope that you will join us at Theory on Dec. 4

from 6-9pm for good company, cocktails, hors d' oeuvres and live jazz music -

all while getting some of your holiday shopping done. See below for more

information.

With the good news, there's always a little sad news too. Unfortunately, our

ELIJA Heirloom Discovery Day scheduled for November 7, has been postponed until

further notice. We apologize for any disappointment or inconvenience that this

may have caused! For more information, or to ensure that you are contacted when

the event is rescheduled, please email nicole@....

Walk on!

The 11th Annual Walk Now for Autism Speaks held on October 3, 2010 at

Beach State Park was a great success! We would like to thank everyone who made

it out that windy day to show their support for ELIJA and the Long Island Autism

Community.

We would also like to congratulate Pinecla of Brentwood, NY, on winning

the ELIJA raffle for a free iPAD! In order to show support for his nephew,

, who is diagnosed with Autism, attended the walk and won his

iPAD merely by stopping by our table and signing up for our newsletter. Thank

you to everyone else who signed up!

Cole Cook's cousin,

ELIJA Student Liam

Cole Cook's Fundraising Page

We would like to extend a very special THANK YOU to Cole Cook, cousin of ELIJA

student Liam . Cole has so graciously set up a FirstGiving.com account

that allowed him to set up a webpage to collect donations for The ELIJA School!

Cole has almost reached his goal of helping raise $3,000 to help The ELIJA

School purchase iPads with communication applications for non verbal ELIJA

students. Liam is so lucky to have such a wonderful cousin - Thank you Cole!
