Guest guest
I hate to buy another if I can get this to work for me. Some have had success and sme haven't. It does have a lid for it but then no circulation. Think I'll put another tray on top and leave it empty. Thanks for that idea. I'll try that. And perhaps the water in the bottom will keep it moist. Thanks for trying to help. Wish I had checked before buying this one. But my other looked sort of like this and it worked great. Must have lost it in some moves.  Carolyn Wilkerson  ________________________________ To: sproutpeople Sent: Monday, March 5, 2012 11:01 PM Subject: sprout garden sprouter  I've been researching prices for this...It's $25.45 @ Sears.com. I think shipping is free if you order & pick up @ your local Sears store. > > > > Carolyn, > > That sprouter is just like the bioset, that I have. Does it have a cover tray? If not, you need to have an empty tray on top to hold the moisture in for your little seedlings. just until they're are about one inch tall. Pour water in the top empty tray and let it filter down. Don't dump the water from the bottom tray until just before you put water in the top. > > this should take care of your problem. > > The reason that I don't like this type of sprouter is because the sprouts can't get very tall, except the top tray after it's ok to leave it uncovered. > > ew > > > > Can my sprouter be fixed or is it something i am doing wrong? > > > > I have a Victorio VKP 1014-4 tray kitchen sprouter. My sprouts, some of them, started to sprout with little white sprouts and I watered 2 or 3 times a day and drained. There was some light on in the room. I had the lid off and used just one tray and the base to drain water into. I dumped the bottom when the water drained and it didn't take too long. But they didn't do anything and the 2nd or 3rd day they were no longer white sprouts but had turned dark. I think they died. I have cleaned it out and will start to sprout again. What can i do differently to get them to grow in this sprouter. the holes are around the edges. I put my finger in to spread them around. Someone suggested I only rinse them once a day. I saw somewhere that some people mist them instead of putting water through the sprouter. What do you suggest to have a successful crop. I am most interested in alfalfa sprouts. I do have sample packages of 12 different > > seeds. I mostly use them on sandwiches and I haven't sprouted for a long time. I couldn't find my old sprouter that worked well. I'd have to have some success and not waste all the sprouts. > > > > Carolyn Wilkerson > > > > > > > > > > ________________________________ > > > > > >
