Guest guest
I teach Preschoolers on the Autism spectrum. One of my students is very verbal, socially engaging, and functioning academically pretty much on par with typical peers. His parents are insisting on 10+ hours weekly of discrete trial training during the school day. His schedule gives him 16 hours/week in my self contained classroom (minus 2 hours of therapies) and 10 hours/week in an inclusion classroom(where he is being successful). We are in the of assessing him using the ABLLs. My concern is with 10 hours of DTT he will miss out on a lot of social interaction with his peers which he thrives on. Any suggestions? Thanks!
