Guest guest
Laurie, The sensation you describe sounds like a very mild seizure. Ultram is known for causing seizures in some patients. Good thing the doctor took you seriously and took you off this medication. Gentle hugs, Fern P.S. I have fibro too.
Guest guest
What! a dolar a pill!!!! I have been discussing Ultram on another list and over here in the UK drugs such as painkillers cost pennies!!! No wonder so mnay americans have huge medical bills each month. Antibotics cost pennies if you buy privately and are free via a GP if you qualify or even if you pay you could get say 50 or so Ultram for around £6! Somthing is very wrong somewhere. Carole PS. Does Ultram have the same effect on anyone else it does on me, I get a dry mouth then a whooze and I am so drugged I can't move or talk. It scares me but no-one else seems to react like that! Guest guest
Do you think your weight gain could be medication based? I know that for myself it's been a combination of medication, pluss the fact that I haven't been able to be as physically active as I otherwise would have been. Just a thought. Guest guest
Kathy, Forgive the delayed response. I have read some of your other posts and yes, you do belong here. What you describe sounds like some form of arthritis that can & should be treated medically & with chiropractic. Chiro might bring you a lot of relief. I am surprised you have not listed anti inflammatories in your meds, as these too can help much. As for weight, you need to accept yourself. I have some thoughts & theories on weight that I wont go into here now. There are many fine larger people. If your ancestors evolved in the colder climates of eastern Europe, more weight would be adaptive. Humans got very mobile & moved all around in the world, so the body types no longer match the living environments. It would help to consider people who react negatively to your body size as uninformed & disregard it. This is not easy, but I see from some of your other posts you are struggling with learning to do it. Guest guest
I too of late have had difficulty getting functioning or get just out of bed at a reasonable hour. And with 4 children and a hubby, it’s hard to be able to lay around all day. But like today, I just did not want to get up and all I wanted to do is sleep or lay around. It’s good to know I am not alone in this not getting up,dressed and functioning…. Guest guest
Hi. I, too sometimes have problems gertting out of bed. It doesn't hurt to get out, I'm just tired and don't want to get up. There are days when I simply need the " down time " and rest most of the day. Also, there are good days when I rarely feel any pain at all. Like yesterday - - - no pain. But last night I moved a table in my kitchen (really easy to do) and picked up a few lamps to place them on tables. I paid for it today. My wrists and knees hurt all day. Just from picking up lamps and moving one table. Before the Stills, I did something like this with a wave of my hand and never even thought about it. It's funny how the smallest of effort will sometimes cause pain for one later. Take care, Welynda

Getting dressed is also fun. It usually takes me a few hours at work to be able to move a bit more like a "normal" person. Kirk I used to pop out of bed a half an hour before having to leave for work and be able to get a ton done in the half hour. Now I generally get up about 2 hours before, it takes that long to "wake up". And I get nothing done in the 2 hours. That's generally the time I read all my emails, it allows the pred to kick in - as well as the coffee. Carole in Hollywood FL
Guest guest
LOL..before kids, I would wake up 10 minutes before work, pee & brush my teeth at the same time, slam a coffee, jump in the truck and do 90 to get to work 5 minutes late, and pawn it off on being there 5 hours extra the day before! Now I get up, get the oldest one dressed (although he is doing pretty well at that himself these days), feed them (I prefer to make toast, their other option is cereal) and make sure he gets on the bus on time. I then just need the "ma-in-law" to show up for the younger one. The whole time that is happening, I am like a cheap robot in a film from the mid 50's......sort of slowly wobbling along. The thing killing me is that if I were to get up 2 hours before work, I would be getting less than 3 hours of sleep per night. Guest guest
We homeschool. My son is 13 and studies at a 5th-9th grade level, depending on the subject (Excells in math, science and grammar/language arts while reading comprehension and writing lag behind.) The nice thing about homeschooling is that you can tailor it to the child's needs and learning level. Gaylen

Guest guest
Yes, I do. My daughter is 12 and will be in the 7th grade this year. I pulled down the required teaching curriculum from TEA and then used a curriculum and modified according to how I know she learns best. I use a lot of short phrases on a 8x 11 1/2 paper. WE do some hands on things- like science stuff. Home schooling makes for a very short school day, however, she learns the material and I know she is safe.
