Yes it is a very difficult stressful time for both of you and the road ahead but we have members here and positive friendship and support to walk with both of you through it all. We have many members and spouses with success stories past ESLD and a transplant. I can tell you first hand our primary care givers loved ones are Our Guardian Angles. We could not have made it without them or know how to put in words how thankful we are for them. It does become very confusing demanding for both of you with MELD Scores being listed for transplant the wait emotional medical needs and care but we are here to help both of you as much as possible and with our personal experiences positive support and prayers. All The Best To Both Of You. Deb - 54 New Orleans Liver transplant 3-4-01 Failed responder to tx's pre and post transplant HCV geno 1a for 32 years now Living surviving well happy and content Here's my story:About 4 years ago Heriberto & I were married. I convinced him to havea physical since he hadn't had one in years (not having me to takecare of him!). His blood work came back showing liver inflammation. They did more in depth blood work and that came back that he had HepC. (He had a blood transfusion in Mexico when he was a baby-maybethat's where he got it-maybe not.)He had a liver biopsy. We found outhis liver was in stage 4. He was put on interferon and was a non-responder. He was put on intergen and was a non-responder. His liverspecialist and the surgeon from the Transplant Center say he has abouta year before he's going to need a liver transplant. It's hardwatching his health go down hill. He has esphogal varices and hestarted throwing up blood and had to have a blood transfusion 2 weeksago. They banded two of the biggest bubbles but he is still spittingup blood.MacKenzie Salinas
