I don't have any references for you (and I would love to find some!), but my

daughter is in the habit of asking for something over and over, even while you

are getting it for her. Sometimes it is repeated echolalia. She's done it for

years. As you have no doubt found, ignoring it doesn't work.

I started counting out loud the times she repeats something, and she will stop

repeating the phrase and sometimes continue the count. This works better for me

than anything else. Asking questions about what she is talking about or telling

her to stop do not work; asking her what we are doing now sometimes works,

especially if I prompt her with sign language.
