Guest guest
ADVANCED LEVEL WORKSHOP Variations of the Analogue Functional Analysis In the Natural Setting Friday, May 7th 2010 Rowan University 9am-2:00pm Presenters: Brett DiNovi, BCBA Beth Therien, BCBA, Firlein, BCaBA Discussant: Louise E. Kerwin, PhD. BCBA Manipulating the events connected to severe problem behaviors to determine what is causing the problem behaviors is well documented in empirical studies as one of the most valid methods to determine the function of severe behaviors. However, most clinicians rarely use this method when conducting functional behavior assessments (FBA's). The Antecedent-Behavior-Consequence direct observation model and interview strategies are commonly used in schools & homes; however these methods only show correlation among events. The analogue functional analysis shows true cause & effect resulting in unequivocally valid information often resulting more effective behavior intervention plans. The skilled clinician can set up situations that evoke the problem behaviors and reinforce these behaviors to determine what is controlling them. This workshop discusses creative variations required to adapt this analysis to real settings Free brunch & Participants can receive 1) 5 BACB CE's, 2) 5 APA CE's, 3) NASP CE's, 4) DOE CE's Register online at www.brettdassociates.com <http://www.brettdassociates.com/> or email inquiries to marlene@... <mailto:marlene@...> or phone 856.628.1686 for questions only.
