Hi and all the bandsters out there....

I am always interested to hear about surgeons and the pay.

I am on the waiting list for the public hospital. It still cost me out of Pocket between

$2000 - $4000 . (Its only for the band) , but I joined a private fund as well, have to wait

For 1 year - this would be in march 2007. I wonder how much out of pocket I have to pay.

Do you think it depends on the surgeon? I mean what includes the package? It is normally the fill and ???

I heard from someone in Warners Bay Clinic she paid only $ 2700 on top.

Has anybody a clue how this system works??? Or is it the health fund that makes the difference?

The out of pocket expenses all depends on your doctor and how much they

charge over and above the scheduled fee. There is a new doctor on the

Central Coast and for the love of me I can not remember how much his fee

is but it was reasonable and it included op, band, dietician and fills.

His name is Dr Bill Munro and operates at North Gosford Private and

Brisbane Waters Private at Woy Woy.

Have you rung around the Newcastle doctors to see how much they are

charging? Out of the Newcastle doctors I can recommend my doctor Dr Tim

but I don't know how much he is charging now as my op will be 4

years ago next month.
