Guest guest
Hi Folks, One of my consultants is working with a very high functioning girl diagnosed with Asperger's. She is 14 years old and the family would like to talk to her about Asperger's what it is, what it means and what it doesn't mean. They were hoping there might be a book that the girl could read herself. She is very capable and inquisitive, reads quite often. I do not want to get into a discussion about the appropriateness of this request. I think it is ultimately a personal decision the parents have the right to make about if, when, or how to discuss the diagnosis with their child. But a list of possible books on the subject that the family might consider giving their daughter to read would be appreciated. Hope to get some good ideas from you all, Thanks, _________________________________ Schramm, MA, BCBA Author of Educate Toward Recovery: Turning the Tables on Autism www.lulu.com/knospe-aba www.knospe-aba.com _________________________________ " There is no greater testament to character than the selfless act designed to go unnoticed " ----- Forwarded Message ---- From: Tina-Henrike Kleine <knospeaba_tina@...> " ABA, Schramm " <knospeaba_robert@...> Sent: Sat, October 23, 2010 8:35:46 AM Subject: asperger book Hey , could you please post the request for a good book, that can be read by a 14 years old asperger girl?!
