An Introduction to Beginning Structured Teaching " Saturday, June 19, 2010, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. With Amber Valentino, Psy.D., BCBA-D Location: The Children's Medical Center of Dayton One Children's Plaza, Dayton, OH 45404 Auditorium (Lower Level) Participants in this workshop will learn teaching parameters that can be effective in teaching children who are difficult to motivate. Specifics of structured teaching using a verbal approach such as pace of instruction, interspersing easy vs. difficult tasks, and mixing and varying instructional demands will be reviewed, demonstrated and practiced. This seminar is free for DAFEAT members. Cost for non-members is $36 for an individual (or $60 for married couples) and includes a year-long DAFEAT membership. Amber Valentino, Psy.D., BCBA-D earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from Xavier University in 2008. She is a licensed psychologist and board certified behavior analyst - doctoral. Dr. Valentino specializes in the assessment and treatment of language deficits particularly in children with autism. She currently works for a nonprofit organization in Atlanta, GA where she is responsible for case management, staff training, supervision of undergraduate and graduate trainees, and parent training/consultation.
