Guest guest
Yes, I hope it is not cancer. He does smoke. I am trying to just stay positive and deal with everything day by day. Guest guest
Is there a reason they can't get him in? Does his insurance prevent him from going to Ft. or Loveland? Or is it a preference in doctors? Is he still in pain or did the inflammation subside after the abx? Again, I will pray for him tonight. I sure hope the can move the appointment up. Not knowing is the hard part. You are doing what you can by taking day by day. I just hope he isn't in pain. I don't know if this will offer any help but I have a co-worker who smokes heavily. They found a tumor on her esophogus sometime last year. He had to have it removed and it did come back benign. But guess what... she is still a smoker and smoking just as much. Guest guest
Yep, insurance. I just hope they figure it out and get it taken care of. I am sure the end of the month will come very soon, I am pretty busy. I have my 12 year old granddaughter right now, and tomorrow her dad is coming to get her. They live in Crestone, 5 hours away. Yesterday was my daughter's b-day. She lives in Ft. . Her son was here all night, and I took him home today. I have a lot of cleaning to do, once the kids are gone and I have time. Time will go by quickly for me, not so sure for my son. Lynda At 09:33 PM 3/17/2007, you wrote: >Is there a reason they can't get him in? Guest guest
Oh, sorry, missed one question. Yes, still in pain, but some of the inflammation is down. Still pretty swollen. He can almost eat food, but nothing crispy or hard. Lynda At 09:33 PM 3/17/2007, you wrote: >Is there a reason they can't get him in? Does his insurance prevent >him from going to Ft. or Loveland? Guest guest
Oh, my heart does go out to him. As you know I have had the issue with my thyroid where it makes it difficult to swallow. For a while I felt as if there was a pill stuck in my throat. The more I thought about it, the more I swallowed and the more aggrevated it became. It was almost a suction effect. I would swallow so many times in a row that my esophagus would close tight. Mine was diagnosed as thyroiditis. Doctor said that my thyroid was so inflammed that is was pushing on my esophogus and this is what I felt. It hurt so badly. I realize his is different but I understand the hurt. Warm tea seemed to soothe my throat, I also who chloroseptic spray to numb it it helped to prevent me swallowing so frequently. I hope that they have given him something to ease his pain until he can have it biopsied and removed. Do take care Lynda, Lynn > > > > > > > > > > I took my son back in to the doctor this morning. Guest guest
Lynda, I too have a son who is 46, but he does not smoke tobacco....hmmm? He is in my bad books, and he was always so sweet until he got in with the wrong crowd. He contracted an antibiotic-resistant staph infection, and he has boils under his arm, but he refuses to continue with a specialist at the UofA. Our other sons both smoke; however, the one who is married to a lawyer has to go to the park to smoke, because his wife will not let the children see him smoke. I think that he is getting tired of having to go so far to get his hit...I hope he stops. I have never smoked, but my first husband smoked, and he set a bad example for the children. Honey, I hope that your son gets better, because we all know that it is causing you so much stress. We are all sending you much love and support. It seems to me that, as we get older, our children try to become our parents. Sending love always.......Lea ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Re: Re: My son Yes, I hope it is not cancer. Guest guest
Lynn, I am finally grand-kid free. Went out and had Chinese today. I have a lot of catch-up to do at home. I think my son has some pain medication. I have to get the exact date of his procedure, as I will have to take him. Keep him in your prayers. Guest guest
BTW, my son's throat exam is Wed. afternoon. They are not doing an endoscopy, it is something different. They are going to look at his larynx and everything in the area. They said an hour and a half. They will probably make some tiny holes and go into the tissue and look to see what is growing. So, if you all would just send him (Dan) some very positive energy Wed. afternoon, and say a few prayers that it is all benign, I would certainly appreciate it.
