Guest guest
Do you love kids? Would you like to work with a child with autism? A 10-year-old boy with autism needs your help developing play skills, practicing language, learning social skills and self-help skills, getting exercise and going on community and social outings. 1-2 year previous experience preferred, but extensive initial and ongoing training is provided to teach all of these skills. Our program has weekly team meetings on Monday afternoons and monthly training with educational/behavior consultants. Hours can be used towards BCBA or BCaBA certification. Additional one-on-one trainings, seminars, and observation opportunities available at Occupational and Speech therapy appointments. Our program requires: creative play skills (natural environment teaching), scientific documentation (discreet trial table work, data collection, documentation & analysis), organizational skills, computer skills and good old-fashioned fun and energy. Great opportunity for students or professionals to be part of a strong home intervention program located in the Durham/Chapel Hill, NC area that uses behavioral-based therapy (ABA-VB). A clean driving record and reliability required. A 12-32 hour commitment for 1+ year preferred. Please e-mail qualifications, resume and availability to goldcarin@... <mailto:goldcarin@...> . Positions available starting Spring/Summer 2010.
