Guest guest
If you have a Natural Groceries used to be called Vitamin Cottage, they have sprouting seeds. I get mine there. They stopped because there was not enough interest. Not enough sales. I understand that some Whole Foods stores do still carry sprouting seeds. If you have a Whole Foods near you, ask in the produce dept. You can buy chia, flax, sunflower and lentil seeds in the bulk foods section that will work for sprouting. ew Whole Foods and Sprouting Seeds If your Whole Foods has a Whole Body section or even separate store like mine, the Whole Body side may carry some sprouting seeds with the herbs etc. As far as beans, lentils and grains go I get them in the regular bulk goods dept at Whole Foods. I just rinse them very well before sprouting, and also remove any poor looking seeds or debris. Good Luck!
Guest guest
I've been ordering from these guys: http://sunorganicfarm.com/ They have a lot of variety (seeds, beans, etc), volume discounts and reasonable shipping. Everything I tried from them so far sprouted up nicely > > If your Whole Foods has a Whole Body section or even separate store like > mine, the Whole Body side may carry some sprouting seeds with the herbs > etc. As far as beans, lentils and grains go I get them in the regular bulk > goods dept at Whole Foods. Guest guest
Good point about Whole Foods, EW. We have several WF in the Phoenix Valley. The one we go to a few times a years has a huge bulk section of organic grains, beans, etc. Since I am there, and I am not ready to order from Sproutpeople yet, I have gotten organic quinoa, short grain brown rice, amaranth, wheat berries for sprouting, all kind of beans, nuts, lots of different kinds of lentils, and more, all organic and at bulk prices. They still carry Handy Pantry organic sprouting seeds, but I try to order the little seeds from Sproutpeople. I am just not sure how fresh the Handy Pantry Seeds are. We will find out in a few weeks since I got some organic broccoli seeds in from Sproutpeopl, so now will find out if the low germination rates of the last broccoli seeds bought at WF is due to my not knowing what I am doing, or due to the seeds. I just had to dump most of the tray of seeds into the garden yesterday because they just would not sprout. They usually will sprout in the soil of the pots they got dumped in, so I may get some of the yummy little things in a week or so. I am using the Sprout Master Trays this time, it could be I did not drain properly. We will see. From everyone talking about Sproutpeople's blends, I ordered my first blends in a decade, so I am excited about this new sprouting taste sensation. Love everyone's posts .. What happen to n?
