Guest guest
I would have him talk to his dr or a nutritionist to be safe before anything else. My dr has me on a slightly different diet than what the info on here says. Not saying the info is wrong but might be differnt for each person. Are there any a person with HCV should not take? My husband takes vitamins everyday, and he also drinks a protein shake every day. Any advice on this? Thanks,FEM Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo! Mobile. Try it now.
Guest guest
The point is each of us have different health issues. So while we have this common Hep C, we have developed different individual side effects. I agree with D. Ask the dr to be sure. As a general rule, LOW sodium is good. I was told to avoid Extra protein and Iron. I have Iron build up. I was also told less meat, more veggies. In the files there is more info on Diet.d Re: Diet and Supplements I would have him talk to his dr or a nutritionist to be safe before anything else. Guest guest
Fem, I was told the same thing as D - low sodium, reduced protein (because of the ammonia build-up in my case) & to take vitamins without iron in them. Iron puts too much stress on the liver. The reduced protein is mainly for people with cirrhosis, wait until he sees the specialist & has a biopsy to find out how his liver is doing. The specialist will make recommendations then. SuZieDannella wrote: The point is each of us have different health issues. Guest guest
Remember that your diet can be different depending on your liver damage. If you’re early stage, you’ve got more flexibility than if you’re end stage and likely to build up ammonia.
