BCBA in Northern New York

Kane ABA Consulting, has relocated to Northern New York, locally serving the

1000 Islands region, Syracuse, NY, Fort Drum/Watertown area, and Kingston,

Ontario, although I will travel farther for clients, if interested.

I received my Masters in Special Education and ABA training from Vanderbilt

University and have been a BCBA for 4 years. I have been working with families

with children with autism for about 8 years, as an ABA therapist before getting

my BCBA certification. Following my BCBA certification, I taught in a public

school for 2 years as an Autism transition teacher. I then moved to Germany and

worked with the company, Institute Knospe-ABA and Schramm, an American

BCBA living in Germany and author of " Educate Toward Recovery: Turning the

Tables on Autism " . There, I provided ABA services for American military families

stationed in Germany with children with autism.

Schramm continues to have a supervisory role with Kane ABA Consulting and

consultations with Kane ABA Consulting are the closest thing you can find to

Schramm's ABA/VB approach in the States. For anyone on a waiting list or

looking for support that is child/family friendly that focuses on teaching the

parents (and all adults in the child's environment) how to be their child's best

teacher, feel free to contact me. Kane ABA Consulting would be especially

useful for people interested in guidance (long or short term) who are trying to

implement the 7 Steps rather than force their child's participation with Escape

extinction and positive punishment procedures.

In addition to providing in-home ABA consultations to families, I will also be

bringing Schramm to the Northern New York area in early 2011 to give an

introductory ABA/VB (Verbal Behavior) workshop entitled " Be Your Child's Best

Teacher " for families and professionals in the area. If you are interested in
