Spectrum is a licensed day care and registered charity, we have been providing exceptional services for learners diagnosed with Autism and Related Disorders and has been providing exceptional services to individuals in the Ottawa area as well as overseas since 2003. All programs are developed using the science of applied behaviour analysis (ABA). Program goals are individualized and all decisions regarding programming are made based on the analysis of data. Programs: 1:1 Therapy • Learners aged 2-18 * Typically minimum of three sessions per week. Contact us for more information. • Available morning, afternoon and after school. (Note: *the after-school programming is new this fall). • Supervised by one of our highly skilled Senior Therapists and Clinical Supervisors • Programs are individualized to each learner. • Assessment tools include: ABLLS-R and VB-MAPP • Targeted skills include: Language (receptive and expressive), social, behavioural, academic, play/leisure, adaptive, school-readiness and motor skills. Spectrum Transitions Primary Focus: SCHOOL READINESS/SOCIAL SKILLS • Learners aged 4- 6 • Program occurs Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons 1-4. • Staff ratio is 1:2 • Focus on skills such as: Independence and following classroom routines; academics; behaviour in groups; play and social skills. • Classroom structure/activities are consistent with a typical jk/sk classroom schedule SCOPE: (Spectrum Classroom Offering Potential Through Education) • Learners aged 12 - 18 • Monday-Friday 1-4pm • Includes 30 minutes of 1:1 programming and 2.5 hours of group learning. • Ratio is 1 teacher to 2-3 students. • Focus on skills such as: functional academics; social and communication; self help and independence NEW: Morning Group • Learners aged 2-5 • Program will run 3 mornings a week • Staff ratio will be 1:2 • Goals will include: functional communication; social skills; group skills; classroom routines; play • Classroom structure and activities will be consistent with a pre-school setting.
