Announcing a new certification in behavior therapy

Hello all,

I wanted to take a moment to formally announce the new certification in behavior

therapy that is being offered by the World Center for Behavior Analysis.

analyst online (BAO) organization (www.baojournal.com ) which is a twelve year

old company that has published hundreds of articles on behavior analysis and

therapy. Indeed, money generated from this exam will go toward continuing and

improving the operation of the behavior analyst online organization

(www.baojournal.com ). Some of the things to be covered- site costs, costs of

upgrades, and stipends for the editors of the journals. So far, the interest has

been very large. We anticipate meeting our goal of testing over 1,000 people

this year.

Why should you certify? As insurance companies place greater demand on evidence

based intervention, it is critical for behavior analysts, counselors, social

workers and psychologists to have such certifications to demonstrate competence.

It is important to remember that as scope of practice increases, the scope of

practice does not equal scope of competence. I urge you to take steps now to

make sure that you remain marketable in the future in the greatest number of

areas possible so that your practice is not unnecessarily restricted.
