Guest guest
had her ped appt. yesterday. I'm not real happy with the ped's response to my question about her head. It wasn't a total dismissal, but it's a " let's watch it until next month and see what happens " . So, since he's not ready just yet to refer her to someone, I think I'm going to find someone on my own to take her two. Problem is, I don't even know what kind of doctor she needs! HELP! Who should I take her to? Or, since our county has an early intervention program, should I start with them? Thanks for any info you can give us... Guest guest
Becky: Good for you for jumping in! You need to see a neurosurgeon, a neurologist, or a craniofacial plastic surgeon. Although many neurosurgeons are cooperative, a great deal dismiss head shape if craniosynostosis is not involved. If CS has been ruled out, I would go for the craniofacial specialist. Your best bet would to be call the offices of these different doctors and ask if they have ever prescribed helmets/bands in the past. If you know that you are in the area of a Cranial Tech. clinic, you can call them and ask who they recommend. If you're not sure, go to cranialtech.com .. They have a list of doctors on their site. Good luck! Kendra Becky Keck wrote: had her ped appt. yesterday. I'm not real happy with the ped's response to my question about her head.
