Guest guest Posted March 5, 2011 Report Share Posted March 5, 2011 Side by Side at Kids Camp: A Summer Camp for Social Thinking Within a well-rounded, traditional day-camp program, Side by Side is a small, supportive community that helps campers improve their social skills. Side by Side campers are bright, creative boys and girls ages 9 - 16 who have difficulty connecting with their peers. Limited spaces available; personal interview is required. Our focuses is on building social thinking skills through activity-based, social learning experiences for individuals with difficulties navigating their way in social situations. Social facilitators give individuals the social thinking tools. So that campers are sensitized to body language, social cues and implications and perspectives of different approaches to people. Campers will participate in: • Direct social thinking instruction • Fun indoor/outdoor practice-oriented activities • ative learning experiences • Outdoor and indoor recreational experiences • Integrated specials with typical peers Rates: Member-475 Non-Member 550 per week for 4 hour sessions Please note there will be a 2 our add-on available for am hours Dates: June 27- July 25 Times: 9-1 or 1-5* please note there is no 1-5 session the week of June 27 Camp will be held at Bergen County YJCC in the Township of Washington, NJ All inquiries please contact Llawler@...
