DAFEAT Workshop

(Dayton Area Families for Effective Autism Treatment)

" Ask for Anything, Part 2: Mand Training with Vocal Responses and Advanced

Requesting Skills "

Saturday, April 17, 2010

9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

With Amber Valentino, Psy.D., BCBA-D

Location: The Children's Medical Center of Dayton

One Children's Plaza, Dayton, OH 45404

Auditorium (Lower Level)

Please note: Even though Dr. Amber Valentino presented this workshop last year,

she has modified and updated this workshop so it will include different video

examples and some procedural changes based on recent literature.

Many children with autism and other developmental disabilities have developed

basic requesting skills yet still experience frustration at being unable to

express advanced requests. Participants in this workshop will learn how to

develop beginning to intermediate requesting skills in children who have

developed vocal language skills. An additional focus of the workshop will be on

developing advanced skills such as asking questions, using adjectives, using

prepositions and carrier phrases.

This seminar is free for DAFEAT members. Cost for non-members is $36 and

includes a year-long DAFEAT membership. To register online, visit

www.dafeat.org. The registration form can be downloaded at www.dafeat.org. The

registration deadline is Thursday, April 15, 2010. Questions? Contact Holly at

registration@... or 937-526-4525.
