Okay, I put my first ever batch of sprouts in to soak. it is the 5 part salad

mix from handy pantry. I will get up in the morning and rinse them before work.

The only thing I didn't like was that the big 5 lb can I bought was very hard to

open. I thought it would have one of those rings with an aluminum foil top that

you just pull up, but no, it was the old fashioned kind that you have to open

with a can opener. Both my manual and my electric can openers are not very

good, I had to go have my son help me get the can open. I had hoped to reuse

the can one day, but the edges are too sharp now. This can will last me for a

really long time, I hope it doesn't go bad or anything. I hope my sprouts turn

out good.

HI.

I have a big LocknLock container. I poured all my seeds from the 5 lb can into

the LocknLock container. Stays fresh, no problem.

Look into this. Or any kind of GOOD container with secure lid. You'll be glad

you did.

I'm with EW-mason jars are wonderful for storing seeds. I have a shelf all

lined up with pretty fabric screwed onto the lid rings-looks very inviting, and

always gets comments from visitors. Looks as pretty as a shelf full of knick

knacks, but edible and functional, lol

The best method of seed storage is to transfer to glass jars. I have a

variety of mason jars or recycled mayonnaise jars (great) full of seeds and

beans in my freezer.

You can write on the jar or lid with a Sharpie permanent ink pen or use a

canning label. Masking tape, which is what I use for everything else in

the kitchen, may not last in the freezer.

Use the can for something else - maybe run masking tape around the sharp

edge.

Good luck!
