Constantly flicking fingers

Hi, my 4 year old son is constantly flicking his fingers whilst looking at

books. Books are his only interest apart from physical play and TV so i am

reluctant to take them away from him but this really needs to stop as it is self

injurious as he rubs the skin away on his fingers.

Any advice would be great!
