Guest guest
Low sodium is a red flag for adrenal issues. I know a lot of people talk about adrenal issues on other networks, but in your case I would bet on a dime that your cortisol levels are out-of-whack. When was the last time you did either a timed cortisol test or a saliva test? Adrenal issues will totally affect the way your body is absorbing thyroid meds. Best-- Courtenay. Tish if only it were that simple. I have taken extra T4 with the Armour. My free testing has always showed my T4 near the top of the range and the T3 has always been low. I do not convert at all, I don't believe. DId you read the part about taking 1600 MG T4 only meds and sleeping all day? That was during a time when I actually got fired from a job for being late. I overslept constantly. Fell asleep at work, fell asleep with clippers running in my hands clipping a dog! LOL I think I am close. Maybe a Ferritin test will turn up something. The low sodium I have had off and on for the past 3 years may be a clue to something, but what causes low sodium? Guest guest
I have not had cortisol tested. I have tried three different kinds of Adrenal support wiht BAD things happening every time. I tried an Adrenal glandular about 3 years ago, that did nothing but give me a stomache ache, then I tried Hydrocortisone which precipitated my last thyroid crash. Then just this morning i just got a new one to try. It is Nutricology Adrenal Organic Glandular. I just got through with a very painful hour & a half. Tried eating somehting and now just threw up everything. Hard enough it gave me a nosebleed, Anyone want these? I won't be taking any more. I don;t think I will try any more adrenal support products. I take DHEA and I think that has kept my adrenals in shape. I have NO symptoms of adrenal insufficiency and just hypo symptoms. Guest guest
If anything, you might want to just do a saliva test ($60, online) to see what turns up. Messing with adrenal medications was not a good idea for you, obviously. But, I really think this might be the root of the problem. There is another network on yahoo where one of the moderators is constantly pushing adrenal supplements on people, which is fine except the adrenals are not something to be played around with. I was afraid of having exactly the kind of reaction you are describing. I am so sorry you feel so bad this morning! Best wishes-- Courtenay. I have not had cortisol tested. Guest guest
Question for all > > > Hello everyone, > Have any of you ever heard that people with autoimmune disease have > problems with blood vessels in your hands? , The doctor could have been talking about Reynaud's Syndrome. This is where cold causes the blood vessels to contract in the fingers. Your fingers turn white and blue and go numb. When the feeling comes back it can really hurt. I've had Reynauds for about 10 years of my 13 years with Stills. I'm not sure that everyone with an autoimmune disease would have it and I do know people with Reynauds that don't have another disease. Guest guest
> The doctor could have been talking about Reynaud's Syndrome. Hello Aleeta, Yeah but not everyone has reynaud's. When I went in for my Humira shot this morning I asked my rheumy's nurse to find out for me what this guy was talking about. She is out of the office today sick, but as soon as she gets back she will let me know. The Rheumy my cousin saw is our newest rheumy here, and is my rheumy's new partner. But I will get the answer I was looking for from my doctor. This was just the first I have ever heard of such a thing. To me it just doesn't sound right to me. and now I am wondering if my cousin or my aunt didn't understand what he was talking about. Well when I find out the answer to my question I will let you all know.

Guest guest
, I just wanted to say that at times I have lots of pain in one of my hip replacements but when I saw the surgeon the x-rays looked really good so he felt it was muscle oriented. Melt ----- Original Message ----- From: But yet one more thing. My right hip, which is my oldest joint replacement, it will be 18 years since it was done in July. Well it has been giving out a lot over the last two months, and when it does give out I get a very sharp pain that goes through my hip. Guest guest
Hi I too don't have any problems with my blood vessels ""YET"" anyway. Hugs; Ginger wrote: Hello everyone,Have any of you ever heard that people with autoimmune disease have problems with blood vessels in your hands? I have never heard of this before. My cousin was told that today by our new rheumy we have here now. So acourse I get a call from my mom asking me about this. By the way it was told to me was that all people with autoimmune disease has this problem, I have two autoimmune diseases and as far as I know there is nothing wrong with the blood vessals in my hands. Now just a little update on myself. Well I thought I had escaped from going into a flare while I was off the Humira for those six weeks, I started it back up 2 weeks ago. But on sunday while out hunting my body decided it didn't like me once again. Since then over the last few days it has been getting worse and today it really hit me. My hands are swollen and I haven't had trouble with them for over 10 years. Hopefully this will be a short lived flare. I am going in tomorrow two days early for my Humira shot.I went and saw the neuro surgeon yesterday. Even though my neck for sure shows signs of arthritis, specially between c1 to c3 he is just going to leave it alone. He doesn't want to take the risk of making my neck worse. He told me that there is nothing to worry about it right. So that is off the list to worry about. But yet one more thing. My right hip, which is my oldest joint replacement, it will be 18 years since it was done in July. Well it has been giving out a lot over the last two months, and when it does give out I get a very sharp pain that goes through my hip. I go and see my surgeon on the 22nd. I had ran into on the 2nd when I was trying to find the right place to vote at. Well I told him what was going on and that I would be coming to see him soon, his reply was one of those not so good sighs.Well that is it for now. Will talk to u all soon.
