I just got in w books I ordered and they are going to make interesting

reading.  One is " The Complete Sprouting Cookbook " but it has the front section

on how to sprout.  For instance said the sunflowers need to be kept in dark

until the root was as long as the seed pod.  Then it can be uncovered to green

up.  But it has the most nutrition when the bottom is the same size as the seed

pod.    The other one is " The Sprouting Book " It has a few recipes in it as

well.  Neither of these have as many photos as I'd like to see.  I like visual

learning.  But looks like these have a lot of info whenI get around to reading

them.

While I am growing the mung beans (in the round green trays), I put the mung

beans in the bottom trays and all the other trays are stacked on top. In about 3

days, the bean sprouts have sprouted to the top of the trays. The weight of all

the trays ON TOP, well they have their own weight so I can just let them do this

until the 5th day and I'm all set. No added weights because I have 4 or 5 trays

ON TOP of the bottom mung bean tray. But...if I want to sprout them separately,

then (still using a round green tray), I wait until day 4 when all the bean

sprouts have reached the top of the tray. I then put the cover on and put two

cans of soups, or two 2 lb dumbells. You should see how they grow. They

literally burst out of the tray all by themselves.

So again, there are two ways I weigh them down. First being the other sprouting

trays which stack on on the other. Or I use dumbells or two soup cans (when

using one round green tray and cover)

" pinch " of this or " some " that and come up with wonderful tasting dishes !.....i

don't have much instinct for things like this.....after i get the " jist " of

something, i can then make my own way but i'm not there with the mung sprouts

morning.....so, i plan to rinse them twice a day like i am doing with my others

and watch them sprout.....would i put weight on them after a few days or when

?.....i'm in a much different atmosphere where we live now than what the

conditions were in my florida kitchen and i'm learning anew.....thanks, peace,
