My paternal grandmother looking back now with what we have learned was the genetic link to CMT. She had 14 children. Standing in a room at a reunion I could eyeball many with the symptoms that I and my girls have. I started to inquire and was met with a thick layer of denial. NO ONE FELT THEY HAD A PROBLEM... NO ONE WANTED TO KNOW..NO ONE WANTED TO DISCUSS IT. One cousin in particular actually made a mockery of my questions. I know on a case by case basis people practice denial.
