Guest guest
Hi my name is . I am 39 yrs old and a mother of two daughters 8 soon to be 9 and 10 years old. I was diagnosed with CMT about a month ago through genetic testing. All though it was a big surprise it brings many answers to a lot of questions about physical things I have experienced from childhood. I worry about my future but I worry more about my girls. If I had to guess I would say I am 99% sure my youngest has CMT. She is a toe walker, has been since she started walking, there have been times she would fall for no apparent reason, she cannot run very well and I have had concern with the appearance of her feet for over a year now. It seems as though she has bunions forming on the inside of her feet by her big toes forcing them to slant. My husband does not want to acknowledge this as a possibility and seems to get angry when I suggest she might have it. I get mad, wishing I had been diagnosed earlier in hopes of not passing it on to my girls. Yes there is guilt. At this point I have not seen any doctors other than the doctor who diagnosed me and that was my last visit to her. I have an appt. to see a doctor in Miami in Dec. although I'm not quite sure what he is going to do for me. Currently I have decided to do acupuncture and take my vitamins. I'm so glad to be a part of this group. Are there any specialists in FL?
