Guest guest
Missy, I didn't personally have numbness on my face but I did in my hands and feet.It would come and go. Another coworker did have the numbness on her face, I think mostly on one side. Her Drs. also mentioned Bell's Palsy, but I don't think they ever diagnosed her with that. She was told she had mono, Estein Barr, possible Lyme, fibromyalgia, stress, etc. She is still barely working with all kinds of problems but has never been diagnosed with any one illness. Sue Hello, Has anyone experienced numbness, particularly in the face? While at work yesterday, I experienced numbness and swelling in the left side of my face only. I ended up going to the ER as I had not had this before and had read about people having strokes and such, so wanted to play it safe. (They're also testing me for bell's palsy). Just curious if anyone has experienced something so localized. I did experience numbness around my mouth before, but never just on one side. Thanks, as always, for sharing your experiences. Guest guest
Missy, Yes, I also have had the facial numbness on one side of my face, mine is on the right side. They also tried to diagnose me with Bell's Palsy. What it turned out to be was the toxins had effected the trigeminal nerve. I also had many strokelike episodes. If you would like we can talk. Guest guest
I also have numbness on the left side of my face. They did an MRI and said it was normal. So they said I damaged my trigeminal nerve like Sharon says. Janet
Guest guest
Could the numbness be caused by electromagnetic radiation exposures? I read it was one of the symptoms along a range of others. http://electricalpolution.com/Health_Issues.html the printed version I have is dated 2004. judy > > I also have numbness on the left side of my face. Guest guest
I have been through enough mold exposures to see that the connection between mold exposures and a constellation of symptoms for me is crystal clear. At the beginning I was DESPERATE to blame the illnesses on anything other than the place I was living because like everyone else, I did not want the extreme heartache and expense of having to move. None of us do. Thats human nature. I also did not want to believe that the infrastructure that we have in place to protect us often fails people in such a way as to allow it. But it does. Often. Lets just leave it at that.

Guest guest
Yes, Jane, there IS a Santa....Oh, that was a different question... I think a great number of us deal with this - and I believe it's peripheral neuropathy and it's damn hard to get doctors to take it very seriously once they've convinced themselves that we don't have MS. Guest guest
yes, I deal with numbness, seems to roam around but my whole body fells kind of numb and clamy, and just plain strange all the time.some people have commented that at times I radiate a lot of heat, other times my bodys cold. I have loss of balance, even with my eyes open and I dont want to close my eyes inless I'm laying down.but it's like someone else said, it's not dizzyness, more like spacyness(head).I stumble and miss step alot. I did have some white spots and receding gums while exposed but now its just dealing with my sinuses infections going into my gums and teeth. > > I don't know why I didn't think of adding this to my post about oral > thrush. Guest guest
Jane, when I was working I had a lot of numbness and tingling. Mostly in my hands, arms, legs and feet which would come and go. It felt like when your hands or legs fall asleep. Very odd and uncomfortable but I don't have any problems with it now. Guest guest
Yes, Jane, I also get the " morning numbness " usually in my feet. I also experience it usually every day in my hands and fingers reaching to my wrists. I am also experiencing an unusually high amount of fatigue and equilibrium problems. I'm fairly sure they are interrelated. In His Service, Young <>< janebair73 <janebair73@...> wrote: I don't know why I didn't think of adding this to my post about oral thrush. Guest guest
I used to have MAJOR and total numbness in the morning issues. I noticed some improvement in this when i stated taking N Acetyl Cysteine and alpha lipoic acid but I was also still living in a moldy space at that time, and other things continued to get worse. I noticed another big improvement with cholestyramine. I still am numb in some places... and I get more symptoms with exposure, and my skin still feels numb often, but I think NAC and ALA and also acetyl-l-carnitine help.. Guest guest
Hi, I get what I call " white index fingers " every day - numbness and they are white. It doesn't last a long time, but it's annoying. My RA doc called it something but he told me months ago so I can't be of help on that. I also get numbness in my feet from time to time ( I am not diabetic) Nothing else though. " yvonne.corona " <yvonne.corona@...> wrote: Hello. Guest guest
I have numbness in my knee, but I have always assumed that it was due to repeat trauma (falling and a car accident a few years ago.) However, I do also have the issue with not feeling heat in my fingers right away. I believe I discussed this with my Rheumatologist years ago and he did he told me that it was not uncommon. Guest guest
I have had this problem even with the braces. I discovered that it was coming from the cervical disks that are affected by the RA and when I changed pillows, the numbness stopped. > > > > > > > I wake up often with my fingers and hands asleep or numb. Guest guest
Happy New Year, all. I have a question for you all. For a few years now, I have numbess on my entire left side. It's like you can draw a line down the middle of my body. 1/2 numb 1/2 not. It has been getting worse lately. I have seen many doctors and every test they do comes back normal. Now this part will sound strange but remember I have CMT and we all know our bodies well. I have not told the doctor this yet cause I figure she will think I am nuts (ah she already does). I feel like my entire left side is partly inflamed. If I feel my teeth through my cheek, my left side feels thicker. My inner thigh, feels fatter on my left side then my right. How do I say nicely that my boys are fatter on my left side as well. This one casues me a bit of pain. Not much though. Anyways, I finally had to ask the question, does anyone else get this and is it normal. Like I said, it is getting worse. I thought it had gone away for good but tonight it is back with avengence and bugging me big time so I had to ask the question. Thanks all,
Guest guest
Hi, Gretchen. Thanks for the quick response. You bring up some great points. I never thought of having more muscle on my left side compared to my right. But now that you mention it it might be possible. Many of my dislocations and complications are on my right side and not my left. I will have to pay more attention to the muscle and monitor that one. Nothing new in my life. No major events, not yet any way. I do work for a very large financial institution that is owned by the US parent company so I am very worried about my job the last couple of days. Maybe its stress related. As I sit here and eat sunflower seeds I wonder about your salt comment. Does salt retain water in the body? These ones I have are very good. Double salt these ones are. Maybe I should slow down on these, been eating them like nuts since Christmas. I do have a DR appointment in the next month. Maybe I will bring it up again with her. Also my Neruo appointment is next month, I will ask him as well. Thanks for the extra kick in the pants, it what I need sometimes to tell Drs stuff. I don't always tell them everything, as they never seem to be able to figure out what is wrong with me. Usually I need to figure it out myself and then she tells me to stop diagnosing myself. Thanks again,

Guest guest
Hi , The swelling on the left side only is an important symptom. When reading your email, I thought about the lymph system and the heart, but I'm sure there are many things it could be. If the doctor is just looking at numbness only, she may be missing it. I would recommend letting the doctor know about the swelling as soon as possible.
Guest guest
Hi Matt, Yes, salt (and too much of it) causes water retention. See info at http://www.water-retention.net/water-retention-causes.html Gretchen
