Guest guest
Hi Tammy, If all you need is for the plane trip, consider a pair of ballet shoes or a pair of thick socks or Ugg shoes/short boots. On all my overseas flights this is what I do. Be sure to drink water throughout the flight and also get up and walk occassionally. You might want to read this article http://www.azcentral.com/health/fitness/articles/0620clots0621.html The info at this site may help you with some exercises you can do, or impromise on the plane http://www.ehow.com/how_3712_exercise-plane.html You must be so excited. Hope you have a wonderful trip! Gretchen
Guest guest
I always wear thigh-high medical support hose on airplanes ever since I read they help prevent blood clots. The point of my telling you this is that they also seem to prevent foot and leg swelling. They are hard to get on, so you might have trouble. Since I don't have CMT [DH does], I don't know if this would work for you, but it might be worth trying. I bought them in a medical supply store. I tried the knee-highs, but they were too uncomfortable at the top. Elinor
Guest guest
I would get some Teds support stockings. They are comfortable (I wore them while in the hospital) and my nurses there told me to wear them when I am travelling (I fly all the time long haul for work). If anything, with poor circulation they help prevent deep vein thrombosis. Then for shoes, I always wear Ugg Boots on the plane - warm and comfy, my personal choice.
