Guest guest
Ed, Thanks. The years between 30 and 45 for me were intense work, and intense physical exercise. So I feel that is good. I was still eating junky foods from time to time, but about age 35 started paying more attention to nutrition. My worst years for CMT symptoms were from about age 12 - 16. I feel living with this wacky syndrome for so long I learned alot and now, at 55, my body isn't as 'stressed' as it was during my 'growing years'. I never realized that the 'stress of growing' could contribute so much to my falls, spasticity, ataxia, etc. Now I feel that my brain and body are finally in sync. A good feeling. Guest guest
Hi Gretchen, After I got through the toddler stage, other than being a total klutz and not having any upper body strength to speak of, life was pretty normal. About 35, things started happening with the body. My hearing started to go, I couldn't stand all day, loss of wind. I've just had a bout of virus that left my right arm useless for about a week, I still haven't regained full strength, I hope the strength does come back as it really wasn't all that strong to begin with. For awhile I couldn't even work the shift selector on my car. That was pretty scary.I've never had problems of that nature before. I'm thinking of adding germophobe to my list of accomplishments. But I did just get back to work after 6 years on disability so I guess one tempers the other. But yeah, you reach a point where you've got some experience to draw upon, and can look back and reflect, come to grips with your being, and stop doing stupid things to your body because it would be neat to try. I hope you stay in sync for a long time. Ed
