This is consistent with my experience gabapentin (aka Neurontin).

It decreased the constant burning pain I experience in my lower arms/legs. I

still have burning, but the " noise level " is definitely less.

But....I still get the occasional stabbing pains (like a bug bite/bee sting),

throughout the day. The Neurontin hasn't stopped that, in fact, they may

actually be slightly worse since starting the medication, though I can't be sure

it's attributable to the medication.

More importantly, the Neurontin doesn't seem to touch the sciatic-type pain that

runs down my leg at all. When this acts up, a narcotic medication and a few

days of complete bedrest is needed to break the cycle.

The Neurontin also made me very tired at first, but my body adjusted.

Overall, I find it has value for me as a part of a complete pain management

program. I also take low-dose Methadone daily along with a non-steriodal

anti-inflammatory, which helps with the joint pains, and Vicodin for the bad

days.
