The money comes from two cases resolved by a 2005 consent decree in U.S. District Court. Authorities sued Farmington Hills, Michigan, apartment company Rose & Sons in 2001 and 2002. The suits say the company omitted disability access features at 49 complexes in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Nebraska, Ohio, Wisconsin and Virginia. The Associated Press left a message seeking comment from the company before business hours Thursday. The agreement also required the company to spend $250,000 on increasing housing access for the disabled.
